I was able to review a StandScan. Honestly, I had no idea this product even existed prior to this review. Now, that I have played with it a little, this is a nifty little device! Let me explain what a Standscan is.
StandScan assists your smartphone’s camera to take amazing high quality scans and object photographs. All you do is set the Standscan up, it takes only about two minutes, place a document on the platform below. Then place your smartphone on the top, back camera facing document. Snap a picture then your go to go!
The Standscan folds and unfolds very easily. It can fit inside a brief case, so it’s also mobile.
Imagine, your on vacation or away from a printer/scanner device and you need to scan documents to work, school, etc. Just use the Standscan.
The picture above was taken from my fiance’s phone (Android). The picture is very crisp and clear. I do really like this idea. This would make a good Christmas present for a business person or someone who is self employed.
StandScan is optimized to work with smartphones, especially iPhones and iPods. It also works well with any device that has a camera on the back.
There are 3 models of Standscan, StandScan, StandScan Pro and StandScan Ultra.
StandScan can be used with or without the back flap support for more light and fewer shadows on the images. StandScan Pro and StandScan Ultra include LED lights which can be connected to a 9V battery (battery not included) or 12V adaptor (see accessories) to transform the light within the unit to achieve amazingly clear scans and eliminate shadows. The additional light provides for higher quality images.
