Keeping the insects at BAY!! In a non-toxic manner!!
Did you know that bay leaves are a natural insect repellant?
Placing bay leaves in all your kitchen drawers and in the flour and sugar will keep crawling critters away. Dried bay leaves, when sprinkled around your home, can be just as effective in warding off insects, like cockroaches, ants and fleas as toxic insecticides!
You can grow your own bay leaves but you have to plant a tree!! Luckily, bay can be cultivated in a container and brought indoors to overwinter. When potted, it seldom grows taller than 6′, but can be cultivated into a dense, rich specimen plant. This sounds like a lot so I might suggest you just buy some Bay leaves and place them around the kitchen.
